The BEST Tuna Salad Recipe
Have you ever just had a craving for tuna salad, but not just any tuna…. a refreshing chill tuna? I got you babe! Hands down, the BEST tuna salad recipe you’ll ever make! From the home of my parents, my mom’s tuna salad, passed down to me, which I’ll pass down to my girls, because they love it too! #momwin #kiddoapproved. Ready for it?
Ingredients:
- 2 6-oz cans tuna
- 2 Tbs lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 cup diced celery
- 2 Tbs diced red onion
- 2 Tbs minced pickles
- 1/8 tsp small garlic clove, minced
- 2 Tbs minced parsley
- 1/4 cup light mayonaise
- 1/4 tsp dijon mustard.
Directions:
- Place a collander in the sink, and open cans of tuna. Place tuna with water in collander. Break tuna apart in collander.
- Pour lemon juice evenly over tuna.
- Spread tuna around edges of collander and use a spatula to press tuna against collander gently, squeezing out excess water.
- Mix together mayonaise and dijon together with garlic, set aside.
- Pour the salt and pepper over tuna and mix well.
- Pour celery, onion, pickles, and parsley into tuna, mix well.
- Mix Mayonaise mixture with tuna.
- Place in airtight container, and chill for 2 hours in refrigerator.
Tip: Double or triple recipe for extra meals throughout the week! I triple it since my girls LOVE this tuna!
Serving suggestion:
Serve over a bed of arugula.
Serve with a side of pita.
Serve on some whole grain bread.
Serve in romaine lettuce making protein tacos.
Serve in half of a tomato or avocado.
