Where My Journey Began

I haven’t always been into health and fitness.  In fact, I still fall short to this very day in my nutrition, so far from perfect!

I recently found this photo and it just blew my mind. I’m actually quite humbled and reluctant to share it as my before photo I was so self-conscious of…But photos really do tell all!

Don’t be afraid to take them.  You will thank yourself later.  And if you don’t take them, you will wish you had.  There is no magic pill that will melt fat.  There is no “diet” that will fuel your body properly.  There are no body wraps that can give you real, lasting results.  It’s all HARD WORK.  It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen IF you keep it up, IF you keep feeding yourself real, WHOLE foods, and IF you NEVER give up.

My journey started out just like any other mom, after having my first baby girl.  I didn’t realize how overweight I really was until I saw photos and home videos of myself, and I had just worn lots of sweat pants and old baggy jeans thinking that was normal for any new mom not really caring about what clothes I didn’t fit in.  But then it hit me.  I’m short for one thing, and being short AND overweight, you can really see the extra weight on a short girl.

One night/early morning, about 3 a.m., I saw the infomercial for Insanity.  I thought, “Oh my gosh!!!  I could totally do this from home!  I don’t need a sitter or a gym membership, and I don’t need any equipment!”  So my parents got me Insanity for my birthday in November of 2010.  I started the Insanity program during the HARDEST time of year, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I didn’t cheat at all, I stuck with the program, and I lost most of my baby weight, about 12 pounds.  Then after Insanity, I decided I needed some weight training, so I decided to try P90X.  I lost an additional 7 pounds AND created lean muscle.  Needless to say, I was hooked after that!  With the help of Shakeology and many other fitness programs, I was on my way to becoming a fit mama.  My 2 most recent programs were Insanity Max 30 and Body Beast, which got me the results in my photo above.

You, too, can have a journey of your own.  You just have to really want it.  And I’m here to help you on this journey.  Don’t be afraid!  You don’t have to do it alone.  As amazing as I feel, I HAVE to share it with all of you so that you can feel just as amazing, and you can then share it with your friends and family!  So I guess my next question is, will you let me help you?  Will the help of an accountability partner or group help you get going?  Will the help of a personal one-on-one coach and mentor help you?  Will the help of having all your food laid out help you eat better?  Let’s talk some goals together, and let’s achieve them together.
