Getting started on our journey is the hardest part, no doubt.  Figuring out HOW to start, what fitness program to do, how to change bad eating habits, having a support group (or NOT having a support group) whether it be online or at home…all these thoughts go through our heads, right.  Totally normal.  I want to put something into perspective for you.  As I have created the “Monarch Transformation,” a new way of viewing your personal journey, I want to encourage you to keep going.  It is a road that is not promised to be easy.  Simple, yes, but not easy.  In fact, it can be very hard.  I know from personal experience that the hardest part is changing your eating habits.  Did you know that it takes 21 days to create a habit?  Yes, any habit, good or bad, 21 days.  (That’s one reason that there are so many 21 day programs, not that you’re supposed to expect results in 21 days, but you can create new habits that can get you there.)

So let’s say that we’re approaching the end of our goals (not the end of our journey, because if it ever stopped, we would be right back where we started, but our goals are in sight).  You see that number on the scale that you have longed for.  You can now fit into those jeans from 3 years ago.  You no longer have those uncontrollable cravings for sweets and junk food.  You have so much more energy because you have fueled your body properly.  And your family can see what an amazing, new, full of life,  healthier person you have become (and they’re turning their lives around as well!).  How good does that feel?

Do you see this monarch butterfly?  Do you know what it had to go through to get to this end finale?  Lots of hard work, eating organic, getting enough rest, and lots of struggles and hardships.  A journey is never easy.  So I want to encourage you to not give up.  Keep going.  If you fall, get back up.  If you slip with your eating, stop what you’re eating (if it’s bad) and throw it away.  If you’re getting McDonald’s or Taco Bell, turn around.  Be sure to get your 30-minute workout in.  (It’s only 30 minutes!) If you miss your workout, get back on it tomorrow and set your alarm (and set your clothes out!).  You can do this.  And I’m happy to help you get started if you have no clue where to start.  Your health is important.  Your kids are important.  Your family is important.  YOU are important!

Cortney Weiss

Hi!! My name is Cortney Weiss, I am a mom of 2 girls, 3 years apart, and with the same birthdays!! I've been married to my loving, godly husband for over 6 years, and I love health and fitness. I raise monarch butterflies year round which the girls love, and we all learn a lot from their life cycle, the good and the bad. It is my passion to help busy mommies become healthier and fit, work one-on-one with like-minded individuals, and help them to succeed in their health and fitness goals. I look forward to learning more about YOU and helping YOU to live a happier, healthier, fitter life. :)
