My WHY

I couldn’t just go to the gym, and I was at my heaviest with my extra baby weight. One night I was up at 3am nursing and I saw the infomercial for Insanity. I thought, this is it! I don’t have to leave the house, I don’t have to have a sitter, I can workout IN MY HOME!!! So I did Insanity, started it…get this…in November, right after my birthday, and stuck to it to a T! Even through Thanksgiving and Christmas. I lost all my baby weight and then some! YAY!! So, I initially started coaching for the discount. Many of us do, can’t beat 25% off Shakeology, right? I had NO INTENTIONS of ever coaching. But something changed…I fell in love with fitness. I saw that I was able to change my eating and become healthier and fitter.

I really struggled with my eating my entire life. Not that I was really overweight or anything, but I LOVE SWEETS. LOVE THEM! And I still do. But now it’s in moderation. So, as my passion for health and fitness grew, I decided to give actual coaching a try. I loved our team, they were super helpful, and I started my business.

Then something happened…My mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was already stage IV metastatic, and the doctors gave her months to live…My goodness, how life quickly changed. But…we prayed. I had people at church praying for her. We ALL prayed, more than we ever had in our lives. And after many chemo treatments, the cancer was gone!!! And she has been in remission ever since!! That was almost 5 years ago! Praise God! But…right after that incident, my dad was found to have cancer. My gosh, not both parents!!! So we also prayed…but thankfully the doctors got the cancer out before it had grown too much, so he, too, is cancer free! Now my mom has many after effects of the chemo, including painful legs and body aches. But Shakeology she really enjoyed, and it even helped to regulate everything.  She was super thankful for that.

Another part of my WHY, which is new since January of 2015, is how I so badly want to retire my husband from his job.  He’s such a hard worker, works late nights most nights, and hardly has any family time.  I so appreciate all he does for us, but I want to help contribute more, so my WHY is even more powerful in that my goal is to retire him from his job one day. I want us to have financial freedom as Beachbody coaches, and with the Lord’s help, I know we can get there.  🙂
So that being said, becoming a coach has really changed not only my life but the lives of my family. My parents have become healthier in their cooking and fitness, and knowing what I do, they see how lives are being changed. I LOVE being a coach.  I can’t wait until I can tell my husband that he doesn’t have to go into the office anymore.  I LOVE our team, and I LOVE everything coaching has to offer.

Cortney Weiss

Hi!! My name is Cortney Weiss, I am a mom of 2 girls, 3 years apart, and with the same birthdays!! I've been married to my loving, godly husband for over 6 years, and I love health and fitness. I raise monarch butterflies year round which the girls love, and we all learn a lot from their life cycle, the good and the bad. It is my passion to help busy mommies become healthier and fit, work one-on-one with like-minded individuals, and help them to succeed in their health and fitness goals. I look forward to learning more about YOU and helping YOU to live a happier, healthier, fitter life. :)
